Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

As standard all websites written by us are written in such a way to be search engine friendly, since this is the most effective means to get your site consistently listed on the major search engines.

This invloves a number of techniques:

• Title: - Page Titles are set for each page.
• Page Content: - Careful selection of the first HTML text on the page.
• Textual Content: - Page content provided in textual content as far as possible, rather than graphically.
• Meta Tags: - Correct use of the Description, Keywords and Title META tags.
• Avoidance of:
  • Doorway pages and similar.
  • Frames (went out with the Ark!).
• Crawler Friendly: - Page content, navigation and links will be written to assist crawlers to navigate their way around the site.
• Site Map: - Use will be made of Site Map pages (apart from in the basic small business web starter kit).

This list is by no means exhaustive, and other techniques need to be employed when dynamic content is involved.
